Kayak Connection Apparel Logo

With my good friend and owner of Kayak Connection, I managed and helped develop a retro style apparel logo. Truckers hats are a sought after commodity on the beaches of Santa Cruz, and Jess (the owner) wanted her own business to shine. It was a colorful project and fun to be a part of.

Next time you're in Santa Cruz, be sure to head out on the water! Kayak Connection's got you covered.

In the Spring of 2012, Ian Fein of feinproductions.com asked me to step in to work as a producer on a short film project he wanted to create about capoeira, an Afro-Brazilian martial art that both of us had been practicing for several years.  The result was a 9 minute short film aimed to enlighten the audience about the basic purpose, structure and history of the art form.

Now, two years later we're relaunching the project in an effort to create a longer format of the film. I am contributing to the film through the following services: short-term and long-term strategy, coordinating marketing material, co-managing budgets and logistics, conducting interviews, transcribing material (in English), and co-managing the development of the film's overall narrative.

For more details about the film content,

Please consider making a contribution to go towards the making of the film via the Donate button on the fundraising page.  Thanks so much!

Kinetic Creatures at Maker Faire!

5/18/2014

A big big thanks to Lucas Ainsworth and Alyssa Hamel of Kinetic Creatures for allowing me to spend the weekend with them at Maker Faire this year.  I got to learn a bunch about Lucas' inspiration for the creatures from an industrial design perspective, and relished in Alyssa's artistic attention to detail which ensured that every curious person was welcomed, intrigued and in awe of cardboard animals that come to life...
Bonus points: I even made it into a MaKer Faire Vine!
